Bilal Mohamed Ravat MCIAT
Chartered Architectural Technologist

Personal Statement
A graduate of BSc (Hons) Architectural Design and Technology from the University of Wolverhampton, I am a firm believer in going out of my way to pursue excellence and be the best I can be.
With 6+ years post qualification experience in industry and a demonstrated proficiency in client facing job running and design, I am ready for the next challenge.
My career aim in 2015 began with the aspiration of becoming a 'Chartered Architectural Technologist'. By God's blessing and with exceptional support from AEW, I am happy and proud to say this goal was achieved as of October 2018.
Retail has been an excellent sector in which to develop and refine my knowledge over the past several years, especially with regards to Building Regulations and planning policy by being regularly involved in not just the design process, but also in liaising with the various members of the procedural bodies and design teams.
However, my view on Architecture has always been that it revolves around people, and while a building may be aesthetically pleasing and awe-inspiring in form, if it fails to accommodate, protect, enhance, and improve the lives of it's users and that of the wider community and environment, it is a failed design. As the industry continues to evolve and progress, it's becoming clear that to achieve this qualitative assurance, there needs to be an similar or equal focus on information exchange as has historically been given to conceptual and graphical design.
Informed design which meets the criteria of BIM Level 2 and higher would mean that the architectural sector will have greater insight into what is being built and be able to better identify the methods and materials that work best for future design and construction processes.
