Secure by Design Module
Walsall Bus Station - Remodel
A secure by design module which ended up being a comprehensive remodel of a unanimously despised bus station. The original brief was to select an area of poor security and redevelop the area using landscaping and other design techniques to improve safety for people using the space. This was a group task in which we all capitalised on the opportunity to model the space how we imagined it.
At the forefront was remodelling the existing bus station in to a design similar to others we'd see that had a much safer feel and friendly aesthetic. Initially, the existing station was drawn up in Revit as shown above and below.. The subsequent design and alterations were drawn up in greater detail using Trimble SketchUp.
